Shout out to Mrs. Hamm! Her guidance, empathy, and advocacy make a profound impact on the lives of our North students. Happy School Counselor Week!
Yesterday, our Food Services Department held its annual Middie Chef Cook-Off! Nine total students (three from each elementary building) were chosen to represent their respective schools and prepare a culinary dish centered around the theme of "Healthy Desserts." A panel of judges selected three chefs who will continue representing their school in a final round on March 13!
Thank you to all of our North, West, and East students who submitted recipes and displayed their culinary creativity in this annual competition! Good luck and congratulations to our finalists: Aspen Bott (North), Temperance Cindric (West), and Baron Carr (East)!
Join Us Thursday Evening, February 8th, 4:00-7:00pm to shop the North Book Fair!

In celebration of our kindergarten students mastering their ABCs, North and West Elementary Schools held their annual Alphabet Parades! In each class, students were assigned a letter of the alphabet and decorated a vest with images that began with their letter.
Our kindergarteners had so much fun during the parade and enjoyed the cheers of encouragement and support from their peers!
Miss Michael’s first graders worked to develop their research and writing skills while learning about the diets, habitats, and characteristics of various arctic animals, including caribou, polar bears, and penguins. The class concluded the unit with a polar bear-themed treat and a science experiment that showed how blubber helps keep animals warm!

Before Winter Break, High School English Language Learner students took North Elementary students on a cultural journey with a special “Holidays Around the World” presentation! The high schoolers did a great job sharing the customs, traditions, and beliefs associated with the holidays they and their families celebrate.
North students enjoyed learning about Christmas in Ukraine and Puerto Rico, New Year's Eve in Ecuador, Ramadan, Friday Prayer, and Eid. They asked thoughtful questions, shared some of their own family traditions, and were excited to maybe incorporate some of the new traditions they learned about (such as eating 12 grapes under a table for good luck)!
