ARTastic

Midview Local Schools proudly invites the community to celebrate student creativity at their annual ARTastic Fest, taking place Thursday, May 1, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Midview High School K-Gym. This free, district-wide art show features nearly 1,000 pieces of original artwork from students in grades PK through 12, offering families and friends a vibrant showcase of artistic talent across all ages and skill levels.

What began nearly two decades ago as a shared vision among six passionate art educators has grown into a cherished Midview tradition.

“The goal was simple but powerful—to give students a platform to share their creativity with the community, their families, and their friends. While the art department has changed and the show has evolved over the years, that original goal has always remained the same,” said Heather Maxwell, Midview Middle School Visual Arts Teacher. “The ARTastic Fest is truly the highlight of my year. Seeing the pride, smiles, and excitement of our students and families alike is why we continue to put everything we have into this show. There is no greater joy than giving our students the opportunity to be showcased and celebrated.”

From intricate pencil drawings to bold paintings, clay sculptures, and paper maché projects, ARTastic Fest highlights the remarkable range and growth of student expression in the visual arts. The event also serves as a meaningful opportunity to support and celebrate the arts in Midview’s schools.

A special highlight of the event will be the Senior AP Art Showcase, where twelve graduating seniors will exhibit their final portfolios:

  • Isabella Griffiths

  • Hailey Houston

  • Haley Harker

  • Lexi Howell

  • Jackie Janus

  • Maddie Kemer

  • Natalie Lowry

  • Avah Perry

  • Alyssa Thompson

  • Jayden Vasarb

  • Ava Velez

In addition to the art displays, attendees will have the opportunity to support the ARTastic Scholarship, a fund awarded annually to a graduating senior to help with college tuition. Fundraising efforts will include:

  • ARTastic T-shirt sales

  • 50/50 raffle

  • Themed raffle baskets

  • Custom button sales

  • Dine to Donate at Charley’s (620 Chestnut Commons) on the day of ARTastic Fest (May 1)-- stop by on your way to or from the event!

Midview Local Schools encourages all families, friends, and community members to join us in recognizing the talent of our young Middie artists!

“It is such an amazing day to celebrate our student artists' accomplishments,” said Heather Burns, Midview High School Visual Arts Teacher.  “I love seeing all of the artwork, from Pre-K through 12th grade, displayed in one place. It truly highlights the incredible talent across our district. ARTastic not only brings our community together to celebrate the creativity, hard work, and growth of our students throughout the year, but it also reinforces the value of arts education and strengthens connections within our school community.”
