Midview High School students will take their final semester exams on Wednesday, May 29th through Friday, May 31st. These exams, along with the quarter 3 and 4 grades, determine the semester average.

A student’s first-semester grade is based on percentages. Each quarter grade percentage is worth 3/7 of the total semester grade. The final exam is worth 1/7 of the semester grade. FAILURE TO TAKE A SEMESTER FINAL EXAM WILL RESULT in your child’s semester grade DROPPING AT LEAST ONE LETTER GRADE. For more information please see the 23-24 Student Handbook.

To ensure that students have time to prepare for each exam, MHS will be on an Exam Schedule on the dates stated above. Early Drop-Off is still available @ 6:30 AM and breakfast will be served at its usual time. Lunch will be provided daily.

Attendance & Expectations

  • All students must attend their scheduled class period exam; no moving exams to get a day off.

  • Students may arrive late if they do not have an exam(s) at the beginning of the day.

  • Students can leave for the day if they do not have an exam during the last exam block.

  • Students cannot leave between exams and will report to the APR between their exams (Ex. Having a period 1 and period 5 exam, but the student has a study hall for period 3, the student would report to the APR during period 3)

  • Students may be excused from their final exams for the following reasons: Seniors who have A’s in Q3 and Q4; Students taking an AP, WebXam, or STAMP test AND passed Q3 and Q4; Students who passed their End-Of-Course State Testing in the same subject area course (Alg 1, Geo,  Bio, Government, and History) AND passed Q3 and Q4.

  • Students absent from an exam must use the Make-Up time UNLESS multiple exams need to be made up (this can be worked out with the teachers of those missed periods)

PARENTS/GUARDIANS who want their child to remain at Midview High School the entire school day to study for their future exams until 2:40 p.m. should have signed the letter that was sent home and returned it to their student's homeroom teacher or the main office.
