The Midview Local School District Board of Education didn’t have to search far for their next superintendent. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Frank Major has been selected as the district’s new leader.
Dr. Major’s contract will be formally approved during a special board meeting at Midview High School on May 1, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
“After much dialogue and deliberation, it became evident that our own assistant superintendent, Dr. Frank Major, was our choice for the job. We are confident that he has the qualities necessary to continue the positive direction of our district,” said Midview Local School District Board of Education President Tom Tomasheski. “The trust he has built with the staff and community, along with his proven track record of improving academic performance, operational efficiency, and communication, has shown his ability to lead the district. This seamless transition will ensure that we can continue current operations and initiatives without missing a beat.”
In preparation for assuming his new role, Dr. Major will spend the next three months in a transition period with Dr. Bruce Willingham, who is set to lead Kenston Local Schools in the upcoming 2024-25 academic year.
“My family’s roots are deep in Lorain County, and the experiences I have had growing up in this area my entire life have provided me with many wonderful memories and opportunities. I am thankful to be a part of this community and beyond grateful to serve as Midview Local Schools’ next superintendent,” said Dr. Major. “I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our staff, community, and students to further our achievements and work toward our shared goals. I am confident that, together, we will continue to innovate in our students’ best interests while honoring the longstanding traditions and excellence of the Midview community.”
