Midview Local Schools is pleased to announce the upcoming installation of Flock security cameras across our campus as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. This advanced technology will significantly enhance our campus security infrastructure, providing an added layer of protection for our school community.
The Flock security camera system features cutting-edge technology designed to improve monitoring and response capabilities. Mounted on single poles and solar-powered, these cameras capture images of every license plate and vehicle that passes within their view. Four cameras will be strategically placed at key entrances around our schools to ensure comprehensive coverage. The installation of these cameras was funded through the district’s Permanent Improvement Funds, which are earmarked for capital improvement projects, maintenance, repairs of school property, and technology/safety upgrades designed to last five years or more.
Key Benefits of the Flock Security Cameras:
Real-Time Monitoring: The Flock cameras provide live video feeds that allow our district to monitor our campus perimeter in real time and respond swiftly to any potential issues.
High-Resolution Imaging: These high-definition cameras provide clear, detailed images, aiding in the precise identification of vehicles and license plates.
Advanced Analytics: The Flock system uses sophisticated analytics to detect and alert us to suspicious activity or unauthorized vehicles. License plate information is cross-referenced with the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) database used by law enforcement. If a vehicle is linked to an active search warrant or court order, or even an expelled student, information is sent to our school resource officers who can alert local law enforcement.
Improved Campus Security: The presence of these cameras acts as a deterrent to unauthorized activity and enhances our ability to ensure that our campus remains a safe and secure place for learning.
“Safety continues to be a foundational focus for our district,” said Dr. Frank Major, Superintendent of Midview Local Schools. “The addition of the Flock security cameras is a significant step forward in our continuous efforts to enhance campus security. These cameras will provide us with the tools needed to better monitor and protect our schools.”
The installation of the Flock security cameras is part of a broader safety initiative that includes regular reviews of our security protocols and ongoing training for staff. Our goal is to continuously improve our safety measures and ensure that Midview Local Schools remains a secure and welcoming place for all.
