Jim

Jim Onderko

Elected in November of 2023, Jim Onderko is the newest member of the Midview Local Schools Board of Education.

With a background in industrial engineering, Jim has accrued more than two decades of experience in both technical and management roles in various manufacturing industries. Currently, he holds the position of Director of Engineering & Quality at Thogus Products in Avon Lake, OH.

Jim and his wife of 20 years Emily, are lifelong residents of Lorain County. In 2017, their family officially joined the Midview Local Schools community following a three-year move to Savannah, Georgia for a job opportunity. Their desire to raise their daughter Sophia (MHS Class of 2028) in a location with good values, a strong school system with community support, and close proximity to family is ultimately what brought them back “home” and to Midview.

Jim’s greatest motivation for joining the Midview Local Schools Board of Education was his desire to contribute to the success of a district that has “not only impacted his family but also the children of many of his close friends and neighbors.” He looks forward to giving back to the community, developing his leadership skills, and serving as an example to his daughter about the importance of helping others succeed. He also hopes to share his industry knowledge and passion to support the continued growth of career-technical opportunities for Midview students.

Jim currently serves on the Planning Commission for the City of Elyria and is a member of the American Society of Quality and the American Society of Engineering Management.
