Office of the Superintendent Banner

Superintendent's Office

The Superintendent of Schools is employed by the Board of Education to serve as the Chief Executive Officer for the Midview Local School District. As such, the Superintendent is responsible for the operations of all schools and departments, with the exception of the Treasurer’s Office, within the school district.

Superintendent's Message

It is my honor to continue serving as Superintendent of Midview Local Schools. After more than a decade in this district — and with deep roots in Lorain County — I remain grateful every day for the opportunity to lead and work alongside such dedicated staff, engaged families, and an incredible community.

Building on Our Momentum

The 2024–2025 school year was one of the most successful in recent memory. We saw historic enrollment growth, hitting our highest K–8 numbers in years while maintaining our lowest percentage of open-enrollment students since I’ve been here. We celebrated outstanding performance on the Ohio State Report Card, ranking #1 among our “like” districts and #3 in Lorain County, and we strengthened partnerships that are positioning Midview as a leader in college and career readiness.

This year, we are also launching our new Strategic Plan, developed with input from staff, students, families, and the community. This plan will serve as our roadmap for the next several years, guiding decisions around academics, facilities, safety, student pathways, and fiscal responsibility. It reflects our shared vision to be a premier educational institution and will keep us focused on the priorities that matter most for our Middies.

Priorities and Initiatives

Safety and Well-being

The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. This year we continue to invest in security upgrades, partner with our school resource officers, and emphasize prevention and relationship-building. We are also providing professional development and resources for staff, students, and families to support mental health, emotional resilience, and safe learning environments.

Academic Excellence & Pathways

We are expanding unique educational offerings, including nationally recognized programs like our MEMS (Micro Electromechanical Systems) pathway in partnership with Lorain County Community College. Our students are gaining real-world skills in areas like advanced manufacturing, biomedical science, and STEM — preparing them for success in both college and career. This year, we will host national visitors from Jobs for the Future and the Congressional Staff Network to showcase our work.

Community Engagement & Culture

Trust, communication, and a shared belief in one another remain at the heart of our work. Our administrative team is committed to fostering a culture where staff feel valued and supported, and where students are challenged in a positive, engaging environment. We are visible in classrooms, hallways, and community events because relationships matter.

Facilities & Fiscal Stewardship

We take pride in maintaining our buildings and grounds to provide safe, welcoming spaces for learning and activities. From upgrades to athletic facilities to improvements inside our classrooms, our focus is on responsible, strategic investments that benefit both students and the community. We are also exploring innovative ways to use our facilities to generate revenue that supports continued improvements without burdening taxpayers.

Moving Forward Together

The year ahead will be one of action, collaboration, and continued transparency. Our new Strategic Plan will keep us focused, measure our progress, and hold us accountable to the high standards our community expects. We will keep our community informed through our Midview app, digital newsletters, social media, and public updates. We welcome your questions, feedback, and involvement — because our success depends on strong partnerships between our schools, families, and community.

Midview is more than a district — it’s a family. Together, we will continue to innovate, inspire, and achieve excellence, ensuring our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your belief in what we can achieve together.

Here’s to an outstanding 2025–2026 school year!

Warm regards,

Dr. Frank Major, Superintendent
